New BB and Phone Installation

My daughter's having PN phone and broadband installed.
The first task is to get the phone line working which is due to be done this Friday the 13th
There is an NTE5 already there but would like it changed for the phone/ADSL splitter.
What is the latest available socket from the BT van and what are the best biscuits to buy in order to make this happen

It depends what they are carrying strat, it tends to vary. An engineer installed an NTE2000 for me a couple of years back but they don't always carry them.
as per the best biscuits, choco leibniz rule the roost in my personal non-professional opinion.

I would have expected the engineer to visit the premises to check that everything up to and including master socket was working correctly.
Is that not the case?
The line has not been used for at least 4 years and does not have a dial tone.

They may do or they might just do a remote line test.

The engineer came to my house for a stopped line just to check everything was working ok. I gave him a brew and a hobnob and he moved my old master socket AND changed it to a new NTE5
