Netgear Dm200 modem with d-link dr-842 on adsl

Trying to get this set up to work as I would like half decent 5ghz and the Plusnet hub one does not give that. The issue I'm coming across is that even with all the details from my account the modem won't connect. When I then try the recommended modem only method I get a tick for internet but the d-link does not appear to have pppoa connection, pppoe does not connect and other connections require a server IP. Can anyone help?

For ADSL you need to set the DM200 to PPPoA. The necessary setting can be seen on Page 35 under the Internet Service Provider tab here. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1201168/Netgear-Dm200.html?page=35#manual

Thanks Baldrick. That does appear to be how I set up the dm200 previously, but I will go through the process and feedback how I got on. Wish me luck.
