NAS with router

Thinking caps on,, any one on here ever set up a NAS system before, I have downloaded freeNAS ver?? 32bit, I have an old P4 3.2ghz computer with 1gb of RAM, which seams to be more than enough, going by what you buy at silly money
Setup, any one??
Should have said,
what I want to do is put all my photo's on it, + give the wife her own folder so she can get to, sort and up-load the photo's she wants to facebook.......... how would she find "her" folder from her chrome book?

Hi, looks like there's a fairly good guide here: http://www.shanekirk.com/2012/10/rolling-your-own-nas-with-freenas-part-three/ though it is fairly long (don't worry that it's part three, part one was about network storage which you don't need unless you're interested and part two was about setting up the hardware, which you've already done )

We use FreeNAS in the office, but only as an ftp server. You will need to enable CIFS as shown in the guide that Matt linked to. The hardware you've got should be more than ample.
I seem to recall some limitation ( maybe on earlier versions ) that you couldn't use the partition that FreeNAS was installed on, for data storage as well. Certainly that guide doesn't seem to indicate a restriction.
Now the bad news I'm afraid , it doesn't look like the Chromebook can support CIFS shares at the moment https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromebook-central/VrYwSNH9i1w
