Hello,
Ive just installed my Technicolor router to access my Madasafish broadband, they sent me this new router as the old Thomson one died. It says on the instructions that this router allows me to use 5ghz N-Wireless. But looking at the Technicolor gateway it says Im on 2.4ghz. Theres no way to change this option via configure. My Mini Mac says it supports N-wireless.
How do I access N-wirless then ? Hoping someone can help !
Grateful thanks.
Steve

N wireless and 5 GHz are separate features - you can have N wireless on the 2.4 GHz band, which is what the TG582n supports. It doesn't support the 5 GHz band.

Just a quick clarification on what Adam has said.
The TG582n is wireless n, it uses the 2.4Ghz frequency band and has 2 send and 2 receive streams. We refer to this as 802.11n 2x2.
"Mini n" is the same but there is only 1 send and 1 receive stream. This name came about because the Wi-fi Alliance ruled that 802.11n 1x1 devices couldn't be marketed as wireless n.
This topic can get very complicated very quickly! I've attached a good primer on the top from the Wifi Alliance.
