My Upload speed has never changed from day One?

Having spent the last 45 mins on phone with custy support
just done 4 speed checks with different testers and amazed that
every test came back almost identical with  0.1 variation....
It now appears I get 8.2mbps
and this would appear to be the norm for my area regardless of provider...
Uswitch shows what other users get from different providers (also include Virgin????)
Where d/l is the same the variation for up/l varies significantly.... from 1.9 thru 0.9 to my measly 0.3
Just wondering why this is?

If you want more upload speed, you should ask for the upload to be uncapped. This could shave a bit off your download speed but not enough to worry about. My upload speed uncapped is around 1Mbps.

Re: My Upload speed has never changed from day One?

Standard 21CN - ADSL2(+) when provisioned by Plusnet has a capped upload 448kbps which is the same as ADSL(1) on 20CN.
You can request this be uncapped if your want/need faster uploads and speed will be upto 1.4Mbps if you are close enough to the exchange. (Sometimes we get confused about this affecting download speeds, but only annex M does that, but there have been reports where it does cause some instability on some lines).
Annex M ADSL2+ can provide upto 3.3Mbps upload speeds again dependant on proximity to the exchange, but this comes at the expense of some download speed. It is only offered on business packages by Plusnet and costs more.

Hi zedingrove,
If your line was in a right two and eight, then interleavin' would be applied. I've just 'ad a butcher's at your profile and it's set to 8700 wiv us and her indoors. So if it's a bit pony at the moment it ain't noffin to do with interleavin'. Are you using a wired or wireless connection?
