Micro filters

On my instructions it says I don't need a micro filter anymore. Does that apply to all sockets?
ie can I get rid of all micro filters or will all sockets be replaced with new ones?

Re: Micro filters

That is correct if you have a filtered faceplate which is what they provide when they install fibre as then all the other sockets are filtered

Re: Micro filters

There are two ways of filtering the phone points in a property
One is to have a separate filter attached to each socket which is in use for a phone or broadband and then the router can be connected to any of the sockets
This, in effect, separates the broadband signals from the phone signals.
An alternative it to fit a filtered faceplate at the master socket.
This provides the broadband connection at that socket only and the wires to the other sockets are filtered at the faceplate so that individual filters are not required but this does mean that the router can only be connected to the unfiltered outlet on the filtered faceplate
When fibre is provided the BT installation engineer will always fit a filtered faceplate so no separate filters are required
