Metronet Proxy Server - SLOW

Don't know if anyone has done anything - but speeds are very good tonight!

There are still problems:-
During the last couple of days, when I use the server, Firefox gives the error message "The proxy server is refusing connections". Same problem with IE.
This is intermittent, so what's going on -  any staff person know the answer?

I have not seen that error but I have seen some time outs.
The server is not at it's best.

OK, how are things now guys? We've rebuilt the cache on the box and restarted it and I'm eager to get the problem closed off!
Can somebody retest for me?

Bob,
I spoke too soon, I'm getting "proxy server refusing connections" error again.
In fact when I first tried to save this modification I got the error! Had to do it again.
I've found this on other pages too, first page opens ok but when a link is opened, the error occurs.
Sorry, as far as I'm concerned the matter is still open.

It's looking good now. I've just been around the world on various web sites without any problem and with pages loading at a good speed.
All clear as far as I'm concerned.

Problems again - guess which result bypassed the proxy server!

I'm ok here
Almost identical figures for with & without proxy
6584 down, 382 up using ThinkBB tester.
Web pages loading ok too.

I did some more checks this morning and proxy server seems to be in problems again.
Think BB
6466/382 with proxy
6570/382 no proxy.
Using test files at http://fuller.zen.co.uk/test/ and measuring with DU meter stop watch -
a big difference in results
d/l only
with proxy 2.2 Mbps
no proxy 6.1 Mbps
