how do I write a message regarding faults without it being an e mail. I can see all closed messages but cannot open a new one. Many thanks.

You dont say what sort of fault - I assume it is Broadband so start here

If it's broadband, the link cedlor gave will take you to the troubleshooter. https://faults.plus.net/ will take you there as well (both via a login).
However, can you hear/have you heard any crackling or other noises on the line when using the phone? Have you had any problems with incoming or outgoing calls? If the answer is yes, it will also affect your broadband, but you need to report a Phone Fault instead.
