Messages from friends' web mail accounts not getting through to me.

I have found that messages originating from hotmail and googlemail sources are not getting through. Having both I have double checked by sending from them to PN, with the same result. I can see nothing odd with my PN settings. Can someone help, please? I use Thunderbird

There are sometimes similar problems appearing - but I have just done a quick test from my hotmail account and my messages get through in seconds.
Hopefully one of the PN guys with access to the server logs will be along soon.
But it may be worse raising a ticket

Is that a typo?

An update
Talking to one of my offspring, it was suggested it could be related to ZA direwall. I turned it off and a wodge of mail came through.
So may be the problem is solved, but I cannot think how to configure ZA so emails from Hot, Google, or Yahoo Mail get through to me., when I turn it back on. Just now I am relying on the router.
Any guidance?
