I have been reporting this via question number 23659534, but am no longer getting any replies!
This is totally unacceptable!
Mike.

What are your Spam Settings set to under:
https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=myemail&s=1&redirected=yes&?membermenu=emailsettings
select "Manage my Mail" then select "Spam"

I am with Force9 (and have been for countless years).
My Spam settings are:
Spam Protection for: xxxxxxxxx.f9.co.uk
On
Once we've identified a [-SPAM-] email what would you like us to do with it?
Move it to my Spam folder
It has been like this for quite a while, and my missing e-mails problem only started in the last few days.
Cheers, Mike.

The account was migrated onto Postini yesterday I believe and the MX records confirm this.
An associated domain still has MX.core records and mail to it is getting through.
I'm not overly concerned yet as virtually all our mail is to the domain. What does concern me is what the state of play will be when it's MX records fully propagate.

He should be able to do some diagnosis as he will have your F9 address to hand.

For my main account I have always used mike@xxxxxx.force9.net
Whereas for my other account I have always used mike@xxxxxx.force9.co.uk
I have just tried using mike@xxxxxx.force9.co.uk for my main account, and this seems to clear the problem - I receive mail sent to this address!
It looks as if the format mike@xxxxxx.force9.net does not pass through one of the F9 servers (or Postini, of course). If this is the case then is it deliberate - in which case all the people who know me by the 'force9.net' name can no longer contact me, or is it something overlooked within the F9 plans?
Cheers, Mike.

The problem occurs because the force9.net domain is legacy, and not updated as frequently as the other force9 domains.
This should be resolved shortly, and certainly before the MX records are altered to block mail entirely.
However, why this is causing you to not receive mail is a mystery - the notes on the problem say that there should be no affect to the end user.

A 4xx error basically means "try again later" and will ultimately mean that your mail will arrive.
A 5xx error means "shove off", and should have been returned to the sender.
Again, if we can raise the lovely Bob from his dinner (I think orbrey was preparing something special for him) he may be able to shed further light on the subject.
fcel: No wrath required. I'm feeling in a good mood today, and besides - your answer was completely correct so I'd rather encourage that

It's not at the ticket raising stage yet.

It looks like the mx.core/mx.last blocking has been switched on which is preventing email sent to the username.force9.net domain from getting to you
your force9.net address hasn't been moved to Postini yet due to this.
telnet mx.core.plus.net 25
220 mx.core.plus.net ESMTP Exim Wed, 09 Jan 2008 14:23:14 +0000
helo moto
250 pih-sunmxcore19.plus.net Hello moto [212.159.0.11]
mail from:support@plus.net
250 OK
rcpt to:postmaster@xxxxxxx.force9.net
451 Please route email according to MX record (xxxxxxx.force9.net/212.159.0.11)
This mail will get rejected. The sending server may try again a few times before giving up and bouncing it back to the sender.
Edit: Okay, should be sorted shortly. It's exactly the same problem as the one Barry linked to. We failed to do a force9.net DNS refresh after the last batch of trialists were migrated (pre-Christmas). When we switched on the mx.last/mx.core blocking it stopped the force9.net mail getting through. I've had a look and I don't think any other trialists in that batch were affected.

Quote from: fcel I must admit that mail to my xxx@username.force9.co.uk is not getting through. I've sent a number of test emails.

I'm not overly concerned yet as virtually all our mail is to the domain. What does concern me is what the state of play will be when it's MX records fully propagate.
Now, I'm really confused by this one
I can see what the problem is:
bpullen@pvs-csctools:~$ dig xxxxxx.f9.co.uk mx
;; ANSWER SECTION:
xxxxxx.f9.co.uk. 86400 IN MX 5 autoturn.plus.net.uk.
xxxxxx.f9.co.uk. 86400 IN MX 10 mx-postini.core.plus.net.
xxxxxx.f9.co.uk. 86400 IN MX 20 mx-postini.last.plus.net.
Your highest priority mail record is our autoturn server!?!?!
Have you ever switched on SMTP mail delivery in the Member Centre? (It's switched off now).

I noticed that...no I haven't Bob.
We have an Exchange Mail Server but always used Pop3.
Edit: The only thing I did today was make sure Spam mail on all domains was delivered to the Spam folder and not deleted.
