I'm some way from local exchange (3.903 miles according to Sam Knows, which
I think is as crow flies, not how BT line runs) and typically achieve 2.1/2.3mb.
Plus Net initially put speed down at 1.7, but normally got better, around 2.
Rewiring connection to my Netgear directly from Master socket I did see appro 10% gain.
I don't leave router on all day, so will get different connection speeds depending on time of day I handshake
with exchange.
If you leave router on all the time, and say it syncs at 2100, at some stage may that speed increase whilst
line is learnt by exchange?
Thanks.

If you are serious about getting the best broadband speed your line is capable of then you should leave your router on all the time except during a thunderstorm.

The sync speed as seen by the router won't change unless the router loses sync which usually means that the speed will drop.
You are thinking about SRA (Seamless Rate Adaptation) which would do that but hasn't been incorporated in the present AFDL2+ and probably never will be
