Leaving FTTC's modem/router OFF while on holidays??

Hi, all! I could not find out a definitive "answer" for the above from my previous SEARCHES! I never switch off my FTTC's Modem and PN's router thinking of doing the reverse may trigger DLM to reduce my IP profile and consequently my throughputs. However I have a second thought of doing this while leaving both my FTTC's modem/router ONs during my holidays because of possible safety issues. My gut feeling is the DLM should be able to discriminate between a prolonged Power-off and then On again, after a long period of time, from a very short-term Line-faults etc. Consequently switching both FTTC's modem/router OFF while on holidays shouldn't be matter. Would somebody who have practical experiences confirming this, which is much appreciated???

There should be no issue with a sustained period of downtime.  It's just constant switching on and off that can potentially cause problems.
