Kind PlusNet folk, please nudge my stuck Line Speed?

I've tweaked my wiring locally, and have had a significant jump in Sync speed to 13245 and BT Profile to 11.69. But my PlusNet Line Speed is still at 8MB.
Strictly speaking this may be more my impatience than any stickiness, but either way I'd be grateful if you would bump up my Line Speed accordingly, please?

Duly bumped to 11600, hope it improves things for you Smiley If not, the profile on the side we get our reports from is still at around 8600 so that may be why - just let us know if that's the case.

Re: Kind PlusNet folk, please nudge my stuck Line Speed?

Hmm. I see the bump to 11600, and I was reconnected at about the time of your post.
But actual downloads are indeed still stuck at about 6.5MB. A fresh BT Test still reports :-
1. Best Effort Test:

0 Mbps to 21 Mbps Max Achievable Speed
Download speed achieved during the test was - 6.46 Mbps
IP Profile for your line is - 11.6 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:

0 Mbps to 0.45 Mbps Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.18Mbps
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.45 Mbps

So, would you please do whatever is needed to nudge that 'phantom' profile of 8600?

Is 8600 what the Current Line speed is now showing?

No, it's showing 11.6 Mb. (I took the 8600 from Matt's :-

Sounds like another of those anomalies on BTw's systems, I expect Matt will have a look tomorrow.

Everything is configured correctly from this side, is your connection a wired or wireless connection?

Re: Kind PlusNet folk, please nudge my stuck Line Speed?

It's wired only (and I don't have a wireless device to test).
So my profile on your reports has now shifted up from 8.6 to 11.6?

Yeah your profile is now at 11.6MB/s, it might be worth doing a disconnecting your connection via your routers interface and then reboot your router and reconnect.
Let me know how you get on.

Re: Kind PlusNet folk, please nudge my stuck Line Speed?

That got me a new high sync speed and IP Profile, but downloads are still resolutely stuck at ~6.5Mb Sad   :-
1. Best Effort Test:

Download speed achieved during the test was - 6.53 Mbps
IP Profile for your line is - 11.79 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.18Mbps
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.45 Mbps

Re: Kind PlusNet folk, please nudge my stuck Line Speed?

Different parts of BTw's systems have been known to report different IP profile's. This may have something to do with this.

Re: Kind PlusNet folk, please nudge my stuck Line Speed?

Oddly I've just run a consistency check on the line and it's come back as passed with the speeds on BRAS and DSLAM matching at 8654, so given the other discrepancies we're seeing about the only thing I can think of is an SNR reset to allow the line to retrain. Let us know if you'd like to go ahead with that mplusnetuser, and we'll set it going for you.

Yes, please go ahead with that.
Does that "speeds on BRAS and DSLAM matching at 8654" mean the problem is definitely outside of my local PC and router hardware?

Re: Kind PlusNet folk, please nudge my stuck Line Speed?

I would say so, yes. I've just set the SNR reset going for you, it should take effect in the next couple of hours or so and retrain over the next few days.
Hope it settles at a good speed.

Stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway... is your wired ethernet connection 100Mbps or better?  Huh
If its is 10Mbps it might explain why you cannot get the full profile transfer rate.
...I did say it was a stupid question, but life has taught me that asking stupid questions eliminates presumptions!  Tongue
Cheers,
