Re: Kafkaesque Problems with Plusnet Support - Speed drops 60% at night

This is the last tbb test I ran:

As you can see once the transfer starts the speed is very stable. It would be good to know whether the variability you see is due to your internet connection or because you are using wireless.

Re: Kafkaesque Problems with Plusnet Support - Speed drops 60% at night

Apologies for bringing this up again.
I have been away for a couple of weeks and thought the problem may have gone away in that time. No such luck unfortunately.
My partner has reported that its as bad as ever. Brilliant in the day awful at night. Low point coming around 10.30pm when speed drops to approx 3-4mb from the usual12-13mb download speed.
Have had a couple of updates from support but nothing seemingly resolving anything.
Everything is stable in the router stats. Plusnet have confirmed there is no issue with the line.
Does this sound like a peak time congestion issue or something else? If it is congestion what are my options going forward?
I've attached the requested thinkbroadband speedtest results taken as of 5.55pm tonight.
Taken with wired connection.
Is there anything of note in the graph?

10:30 p.m. is way too late for peak time congestion, I would have thought.
Are we sure it is not some scheduled download on your computer(s) that uses up some of your bandwidth?  Or your neighbour "borrowing" some of your capacity, for that matter?

Thanks for the suggestion.
Would there be any way to check that? I'm on mac computer.  Does seem really odd prior to this last 6 weeks have had 3 good years with plusnet.
Pretty terrible tonight 10.30pmish 1.9mb download speed.

Sorry for the late reply, are you still seeing the same issues?
