Have seen an overall improvement using the Voyager 2110 over the Thomson and no network freezes so far. Think I'll be sticking with the Voyager for the time being.
Router stats:
Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 5440 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 10.2 dB 18.0 dB
Line Attenuation 56.0 dB 31.5 dB
Output Power 19.8 dBm 12.3 dBm
Speed test:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 4.51 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600 Kbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional Information: Your DSL Connection Rate :5.44 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 4.5 Mbps
Current line speed
Phone exchange: POPLAR
Estimated line speed: 5Mb (This may vary between 3.5Mb and 7.5Mb) - Checked on 2012-01-11 16:33:59
Current line speed: 21 Mb
Since my speed is now right at my IP profile, should I expect the profile to be able to rise to 5MB to match the speed PN has given me if I request a profile reset?

It's quite possible that you might get slightly more with a reset. How is your kit set up? Are you using any extension cables/sockets?

Only one phone socket and this is what the router is plugged into with a filter. No extension cables or any other sockets.

OK - have plugged it into the test socket and reconnected, new stats are:
Line Mode G.DMT Line State Show Time
Latency Type Interleave Line Up Time 00:00:08:27
Line Coding Trellis On Line Up Count 3
Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 5824 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 9.1 dB 18.0 dB
Line Attenuation 56.0 dB 31.5 dB
Output Power 19.8 dBm 12.3 dBm
Speed test
Download speedachieved during the test was - 4.55 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600 Kbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional Information: Your DSL Connection Rate :5.82 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 4.5 Mbps
I'm interested in how plugging the router into the test socket is any different. If speeds are better using this socket does that mean I should use this all the time?

Hi bbgmp,
Yes, I would leave it there. Your sync rate will now give you a profile of 5000k once it picks up. I've just been doing some digging and it looks like when you changed your product an order was placed to move you to ADSL2+ which didn't complete. I'm going to place this manually for you. Once you're on this you'll get a profile much closer to your sync speed.

Upgrade to ADSL2+ has completed and seeing a huge improvement. Line attenuation seems a bit higher but speed is acceptable. I've also gone ahead and installed an ADSL faceplate in the hopes that would decrease the attenuation but no such luck.
Router stats
Line Mode ADSL2+ Line State Show Time
Line Power State L0 Line Up Time 01:02:30:17
Line Coding Trellis On Line Up Count 3
Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 5807 Kbps 843 Kbps
Noise Margin 8.9 dB 5.5 dB
Line Attenuation 57.5 dB 28.8 dB
Output Power 0.0 dBm 12.8 dBm
Speed test
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5.07 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 5.12 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 728Kbps
Additional Information: Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 832 Kbps
This is a huge improvement from the initial speed of 3733 kbps when I started this thread. Really appreciate everyone's help with my speed issue.
