Re: Just half a meg more

Have you considered connecting the BT business hub to see if the line sync speed by the hub's HOME page is any faster than the TG582N ?
(Reading the earlier part of this thread, the hub did sync at 4.1 mbps with 6dB noise margin on ADSL1 before things went pear shaped and it subsequently refused to connect higher than 2.3mbps on ADSL1 and ADSL2+).

Re: Just half a meg more

I'm not sure if there is any particular fault, although the errors counts in the latest ADSL stats are probably rather high and the line attenuation has increased to 61 (it was 59.5 according to the 582n on ADSL2+ before).

Re: Just half a meg more

Robert, can I suggest you check the DSL Connection statistics reported by the currently connected router and post the results again, because both the BT speed test results from the BT biz hub and TG582N which you uploaded report you have an IP profile of over 3.5 Mbps even though the actual download speeds were only 2.7 Mbps.  That seems to be a significant improvement compared to the IP profile of 2.86 Mbps you posted early this morning !

Edit (snap, Purleigh beat me to it)  Can you also log into Plusnet Member's  Centre, and go to 'Connection Settings', then click on 'High Speed Broadband' and tell us what the 'Current Line speed' is reported ?

Also remember it's inadvisable to repeatedly disconnect and reconnect routers too often.

Re: Just half a meg more

Just checked the DL speed still hanging in there at 3.3megs, have used my smart TV all day with no problems, no explanations as to why I have suddenly attained these speeds, but who cares so long as the stay up there.
