It should be!  You pay more for John Lewis broadband than you pay for Plusnet broadband.

That depends what package and market area you are in. PN extra £17.99 (60gb) + £ 5.00 (pro add-on) to remove traffic shaping . £ 22.99 for market 1,
Compared to £18 no traffic shaping and ul usage. In this instance JL is much better and £ 4.99 cheaper ( phone line needs to be taken as well )

When I last checked, their fibre deal was better, for some reason.

Just saying, you know, making conversation, it being a new product and all that, thought it would be talk of the town. Shocked

In which case this should be on the Chit-chat board, not here or added to this existing thread that a quick Forum Search would have revealed.

no traffic shaping, really?
"We manage our network using prioritisation techniques to ensure that during busy periods time sensitive applications such as VoIP, email, gaming and web browsing are given priority over bandwidth intensive, non-time-sensitive applications such as Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file sharing. Traffic shaping is used to a greater or lesser extent on all our Broadband Services."

Re: John Lewis Broadband

You want some traffic management.  This means that if you are maxing your line with P2P, your VoIP calls don't drop out.
