I can't access my router right now. But it's connecting at ~7,600 up, rock solid. Either I'm being throttled, or there's a problem further upstream.

These are the BT results:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.63 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8.13 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7.15 Mbps

Can you check the Current Line speed at https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed.
I wouldn't put too much trust in the BT Speedtester (Diagnostic) throughput figures, as it has been giving unreliable results , Try the upto 24Mbps Speed Test (Beta) on the RH button, although just now for me they were both giving more consistent and accurate results. Also try the Thinkbroadband one.
Also try the VP status again - the Database has been updated.

Not recorded (service activated before we introduced estimates).

6.5 Mb

See whether you get better results in off-peak hours, if not try another modem/router (borrow one if you need to) just to be sure. If it's still the same, raise a fault.

Off peak I'm getting 6mb, peak times 100kb-300kb. It looks like I've got something wrong with my profile too.

Hi there,
Looks correct as things stand, but I'll check again at 4 as that's when it should change. We've seen a few accounts with the same issue so will update you as soon after 4 as possible.

Hi Plusnet team.
I'm also getting this problem.  Premier option 1 -  Peak time 0.96 Mb/s down.  Off Peak - 9.6 Mb/s down.
I haven't gone over 5GB peak usage this month so traffic management shouldn't be active yet.
I raised a fault - Question #54967747 - and your team say there is something wrong with my line.  That doesn't make sense to me, because as soon as off-peak starts (12am) my down speed flies!
Any clues?

I think it may be an incorrect traffic management profile being assigned after 4pm. I've seen a couple lately. We've raised an internal problem (71174) to investigate this further. I'll check yours later and see if I can get it manually reset if it is the same thing.

Just thought you should know.  Last night about my speed dropped to a virtual standstill. I could hardly load the Google homepage!
This morning (off peak) the speed was flying as usual. I'll see what happens tonight when I get in from work.
