Is there any point in raising a fault

This is not a dig at Plusnet but a serious question.
I have a problem where occasionally my line will resync with a very low upstream speed as shown from the log below when the phone rings and isn't picked up quickly

I just carried out a series of tests while monitoring what is happening to the upstream error rate with routerstats
Test 1 - ADSLNation Faceplate and Speedtouch pigtail filter in series with only the BT answering machine connected - corrected errors on the upstream increased while it was ringing
Test 2- As above but with only a standard wired phone connected - corrected errors on the upstream increased while it was ringing
Test 3 - As above with no phone connected - corrected errors on the upstream increased while it was ringing
Test 4 - ADSLNation Faceplate only - repeated tests 1, 2 and 3 - corrected errors on the upstream increased while it was ringing
Test 4 - Using test socket with Speedtouch pigtail filter with no phone connected - corrected errors on the upstream increased while it was ringing
If a fault is reported would BT accept it and, if they do, would they accept the evidence of upstream errors as a fault which needs to be corrected

Re: Is there any point in raising a fault

Every time it happens you have a low upstream snr, already posted in another thread but I have seen similar problems if my upstream in my case drops to 8 or less, a manual reboot during the day resets the upstream snr to 15+ and sync to 440. so once its 10+ its stable for the most part but if it hits 8 I will lose connection and suffer a  drop in both down and up IP profiles.
I am beginning to wonder if its this new system BT is running as my exchange has been ADSL2+ enabled for a while, but the day they switch to the new Improved IP profile system I started having issues.

Re: Is there any point in raising a fault

Hi Jim, not sure how it would be treated faults-wise, but can't see any harm in seeing what they think about it.
