Is the autoturn queue stuck?

The finger command is sent on schedule every hour, but I haven't seen anything arrive today.  Before leaving for work, I tried to send the finger command manually and saw no response.
Is there a general issue with getting mail de-queued - or is it just me?

Re: Is the autoturn queue stuck?

Not aware of any problems although I know the servers have been under quite a lot of load of late. So much so in fact that we've been contemplating what the future of the service should be. Do you want me to try manually dequeuing your mail for you?

Re: Is the autoturn queue stuck?

Hi Bob,
No - just posting on here seems to have worked Wink
The scheduled email that was sent at 02:00 just arrived at 13:17...  which would correlate with the hourly finger schedule, but it must have taken getting on for 10 attempts to get the de-queue success.
Looks like it might have taken at least two attempts yesterday. too.
Cheers.

Does email destined for autoturn go through the Ironports?

No, would give the servers a bit of breathing space if it did though! Wink

Hi Bob
I have a couple of questions for you if I may.
When you say load do you mean the amount of traffic or the amount  of qued mail?
Secondly if traffic from these servers were routed through Ironport would it stop spammers and hackers attempting
to compromise my server?
from what I read in the email platrom forum Ironport  gets pretty hungry Cheesy (sorry)
Don't get me wrong I have strong intrusion measures in place. I was just curious to know
Lloyd

Re: Is the autoturn queue stuck?

Autoturn woes.
I collect my mail via SMTP fingering autoturn to trigger download. I've been doing this for the past 5 years without problem.
In the last 2 or 3 weeks finger gets a "connection refused" error requiring sometimes up to 20 retries before it connects. I raised a ticket about this, and after a few bland blah-blahs, somebody admitted to there being a problem. I also began to notice that some mails were coming in up to 4 days (!!) late. I raised another ticket asking about this. No reply so far, but given that it is now quicker for me to post a letter via Royal Mail, could someone out there give me concrete information about what the hell is going on. I'm trying to run a business here.
