Is it the weather or what?

My system has been stable for a long time, with download speeds around 10mbs and uploads at 1mb. But for the past three weeks I have had lots of disconnects and consequent speed changes - currently it is 6.6 down and 520k up. Before I start raising tickets, is there a general problem, such as the high winds interfering with telephone cables?  My exchange is Ruislip.
I should add that the router was switched off for three days last week but it has made no difference. And it has been rebooted a couple of times since.
Thanks for any help

Re: Is it the weather or what?

If you can post your router stats - noise margin, speed and attenuation we may have a better idea
This explains how to get them http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,96155.0.html

Re: Is it the weather or what?

The automatic systems must have seen some quite serious instability to have raised the default noise margins to around 12dB
The first thing is to raise a fault - disconnections - at https://faults.plus.net and see what comes back
