Ip Profile reset.

Hi,
Sorry to ask but BT wholesale has stopped working down our road and after about 5 days of stable connection my ip profile has only reached 3 Mp I have just turned reset my router and have now connected at
Max. DSLAM throughput kBit/s 3968 448
Min. DSLAM throughput kBit/s 3744 352
Attainable throughput kBit/s 4824 856
Current throughput kBit/s 3872 448

Latency 4 ms 4 ms
Bit swap off on

Signal-to-noise ratio dB 14 13
Line attenuation dB 51 32
Power cutback dB 0

So I think my profile should be 3.5MP maybe 4MP?
Thanks
that extra bit of speed makes all the difference here.

Re: Ip Profile reset.

Your line is currently in sync at 3488, on a 20CN connection this means a profile of 3000 as per the table here: http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/broadband_terminology.shtml#ipProfile
However I have noticed that your SNR is very high, currently at a target of 15db which will be causing your speeds to be lower than ideal. We can request an SNR reset but we like to see at least 24 hours of a stable connection before doing this, so if you reply here tomorrow we'll check again and potentially put the SNR reset through for you.

Re: Ip Profile reset.

OK Chris,
Thanks for that. All those disconnections were caused by BT working in the area!!
According to my router I was on from Friday  until Wednesday at 10 o'clock when i rebooted my router.without any breaks but according to you I had one disconnection!
I will post tomorrow.
thanks

Re: Ip Profile reset.

Hi
Still connected today. If you could put a request for a reset that would be great.
thanks

Re: Ip Profile reset.

Hi, I have done an SNR reset for you, you should notice the difference in the next 20 minuets or so.
Thanks
Jo

Re: Ip Profile reset.

Hi,
Your SYNCH speed lays in this range 5696 - 6239kb/s and so when the BTw & PN systems catch up you should have a profile of 5000 (up to 5Mb/s).  Note that this synch speed is stunningly good for the reported attenuation.  There is some risk that you might see instability and a reduction in synch speed as the DLM works through the training period.
Run the BTw speed test and then the further diagnostics.  Also look at the "current speed" under "connections" on the PlusNet portal.  It might take 3 days for the BTw profile to update and the PN one should follow a few hours later.  Try to avoid resyching the router so as to remains as stable as possible.
