Internet slowed to a crawl past fortnight

Thanks for the responses, everyone.
I'm almost certain its something wrong at my end. We only have a wireless phone (a pair actually - the other, in the kitchen is just powered by mains) and the router connected to the main socket (curently using test socket) via a microfilter. Our Skybox connects via a proprietary wireless adaptor.

Yesterday, I could hardly maintain a connection for five more than five minutes. I haven't experienced a single disconnection since plugging into the test socket. (from what I've noticed, anyway)

If you can do what I asked in reply #27 and answer those questions in detail. Do I take it that the sky box is not plugged into the phone line?

SNR has been tweaked again, and everything appears to be fine at the moment. It was set to extremely low levels, so I believe the minimal threshold has been increased a little.
@Anotherone Sorry for not replying earlier, but I've been pretty much entirely AFK for the past 72 hours. If things start getting ropey again, I'll have a closer look at the test socket.

No problem, you reply in your own time. The only thing I would say is don't wait for it to "get ropey" again. It's not the test socket as such, it's the faceplate that you have to remove to get to the test socket. But go through my reply #27 in detail when you get the chance. Because as sure as eggs are eggs, even if you don't see frequent disconnects, you will not be getting the performance that you ought to be able to get.

It seems that something is causing your line to have bouts of disconnections.
