Re: Intermittent issue

For people who were getting single figure speeds, fibre is a great improvement. I think the main issue with fibre is if you have poor quality copper cabling between the cabinet and your house.
There are some ways you can find out if/when fibre is coming to your area:
1) Put your number in here http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ and it will tell you if fibre is available or an estimated date if planned for your cabinet.
2) Put you postcode in here http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/ and it will tell you the rollout plans for your area.

Speed test is still low

but connection speed seems much higher

Re: Intermittent issue

Hopeful of an improvement over time.  Doesn't appear that fibre is an option for me at the moment according to your links Andy.

Re: Intermittent issue

Are you running the test wirelessly?
I would have thought you should be able to get around 17Mb with the line noise figures from your router. Can you post the latest router stats?

Re: Intermittent issue

The DS noise margin of 0.3 is so low that there may be so many CRC errors that the packet loss reduces the throughput leading to the speedtest result being lower than the maximum possible for your line connection rate of 19328.

Re: Intermittent issue

Nope.  Have never connected my PC wirelessly  to my router.  Cannot figure out how to find router stats on the TP-Link Like I could on the 582N

Re: Intermittent issue

Downstram SNR Margin is still under 1.  Should I be worried about it?

Should my downstream SNR Margin be this low

Re: Intermittent issue

Your line looks fine and is performing well from what I can see. I've adjusted your profile now so hopefully you'll see an improvement.

Still cannot seem to get back to over 16Mbps which I was at before the issues I have experienced.

Re: Intermittent issue

We could move your SNR Target down to 3db but it could make your line susceptible to drops and interference - it would increase the speed slightly but it could have an overall negative affect.
The speeds you are currently getting are acceptable for the length of your line, it's more important to have a stable line rather than a fast line and sometimes we have to take a little bit of the speed to ensure the line remains stable. You shouldn't notice much different between 14.71Mbps and 16Mbps.

Re: Intermittent issue

@ sully666
I know you've tried the test socket on the master socket, but are you running your ADSL now from the same master socket or an extension?
Your graph look pretty good however and isn't showing any problems.
