Now up to 28 hours without a disconnect, but no sign of the speed increasing. Was told to leave it running for 72 hours, so assume I shouldn't reboot the router to see of the speed increases?

You should notice a difference within 4 hours of the reset taking place.

Any likelihood of me getting back to my previous speeds of over 16 Mbps after the training period?

Your line is currently connecting at 15348Kbps. We set the profile at around 88.2% of this which is around 13.4/13.5Mbps. We can only set the profile to the speed at which your router connects to.
It might be worth restarting your router at around midday today to see if you can push the SNR down which would slightly increase your connection speed.

Will try restarting router after my son has gone out or come home at lunchtime tomorrow.
Regarding fibre, having read so many threads on here moaning about issues, I will wait a while yet. Not even sure I have seen a cabinet near us yet anyway  Sad
