Re: Interleaving

Not really I'm afraid.
We can only try eliminating everything else.  If it is a case of exchange contention I'm afraid that we can only wait for BT to do their usual upgrades.
It could be coincidental that your speeds were better with Orange, but we'll see what happens with the new router.

BT data supplied to Nildram says you're Green.

Re: Interleaving

Just got a speed test of
Today 20:10  1564 kbps (196kB/s)  332 kbps (41.5kB/s)
So that rules out the 10 day training period.

Re: Interleaving

Is the old BT speedtest method (where your router logs in directly to their servers instead of the Plusnet ones) still a useful test?  (Inasmuch as it entirely rules out the PN network as a source of congestion...)  The PN staff here are bound to know, but probably most of the regulars do too.

Re: Interleaving

Just done another speedtest and got
Today 20:29  667 kbps (83.4kB/s)  340 kbps (42.5kB/s)
Great for a synced line of 8128 and ip profile of 7150
I had tried logging into the speedtester with my router but it wont accept a username without a password

Re: Interleaving

This is a btspeed tester test using my normal login details
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 405 kbps
This test was not conclusive and further testing is required.
Please wait whilst you are redirected to undertake a second test.
You now have two choices-
If you wish to carry out further tests and you are competent to make changes to your ADSL system configuration, then please click on 'Continue' button.
If not, please close the window using 'Exit' button and contact your ISP for further assistance with these results.

Re: Interleaving

Its getting worse
Today 21:03  386 kbps (48.3kB/s)  317 kbps (39.6kB/s)
I tried the btspeed tester by logging in on the bt network but it couldnt find the bt site.

Re: Interleaving

Hmm, nobody knowledgeable has stepped in to help on this point Smiley but the BT speed test I meant was the one using speedtest@speedtest_domain as the PPP login.
I guess this is what you already tried?  If you google for "speedtest@speedtest_domain" you'll find links on how to use it (and the IP number) but also a few - inconclusive so far, for me at least - hints that it has been retired...
Have you actually raised a ticket with PN support now?  (Given that you're way past the notional 10 day re-training? :))

Re: Interleaving

Had a bit of a thought.
Can anyone please post some tracert tests to www.bbc.co.uk and post what sync speed you have connected at and if you have interleaving turned on or off
Thanks
