Turning interleaving off will it help improve the sync, or does it only help lower pings?.

There are a some mostly older type router/modem units which when used on an interleaved line do restrict the sync to a lower value.
This is due to complex technical issues of the chipset and processors within them and what differing international ADSL standards they are capable of working to.
One such I personally know of is the BT Voyager 210 - this has a max sync on the 'up to 8Mb service' (ADSLmax) of 8096kbps when the line is interleaved compared to 8128kbps as the max possible normally quoted. When used on a Fast Path line it will do 8128kbps.
When broadband first came out BT stated that the max possible sync on an interleaved line was 7616kbps, but obviously since then router/modem units came out with the ability in their processing power to get round the problem of the data overheads created by the interleaving/error correcting process on the line.

So i guess having it on doesn't do nothing to the sync, it only makes the pings higher.

Hi tomxlisa,
Yes there's not a great deal of impact on the sync but your pings are likely to be a bit higher. Also with regard to your PM, your 10 day training period should finish on the 13th.

Turning interleaving off will improve the sync if your router supports Trellis Coded Modulation.
