Instability of 21CN and ADSL2+

Well still no luck.  Only think BT have done is some remote diagnostics, that have made things worse.  Now stuck with a Downstream rate of 2269, no matter what the SNR.  Upsream is slowly improving.

Until last evening my downlown speeds as measured by PlusNet speedtester were remarkably consistent (see here http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,76303.0.html ). When checking again last night download speed had fallen to the 3870's. BT speedtester showed that their profile had dropped from 8000 to 4000 although router was still reporting sync speed of 9423 with noise margin and attenuation in the same range as before. I re-booted router (switch off/on) this morning and gained a slight increase of sync, now 9481. a rerun of the BT speedtester at 14:30 has shown that their download profile is now back to 8000. Throughout this period PN profile has remained at 8000. PN speedtester shows that my download speed has returned to its regular spot.

Well not got less than a 512 connection now. Absolute crap really.  All BT are doing is remote diagnostics, and since that has happened by speeds have steadily dropped.  If this cant be resolved then I will have to either go back to 20CN, or if this is not possible, then as you cannot supply me with a service that meets expectations, then you are in breach of contract, and I will be asking for my 12month contract to be revoked, and allowed to get my MAC code.

Following on from my post above I have just repeated the BT speedtest and find that my BT profile has dropped to 7150 from 8000. My sync speed has remained constant at 9481 which should result in profile of 8000. PN profile currenyly set at 8000. Router logfile is not reporting any resets or reconnections. I still get same download speed from PN speed test in 6530's.
Whats going on with BT profile changes?

Well....... I am getting pretty narked now
Nothing appears to be happening, and I am currently now left with a 350k profile
I personally feel support on this trial leaves alot to be desired.  Hopefully this can be fixed, sync now appears stable, although I am not suprised with such a low rate, and a margin of 30.5dB, I am worse off than a fixed 512k connection.  Oddly upstream has stabalised at 888Kbps.  Cannot tolerate this for much longer. Also getting loads of PPP disconnects now as well. Current logs

We've got three different stability options - Standard, Stable and Superstable.
Would you mind if we tried your line on stable?  I honestly don't know how much difference it is likely to make as we don't have any customers on stable or super stable that I'm aware of yet.

Sure - I can explain my understanding.  I can't really offer more as we haven't seen them in action.
Standard is the standard DLM.
Stable is the DLM being more aggressive to find a stable service without disconnections.
Superstable is more aggressive.
We're actually looking for some trialists to test the latter two.  It may result in slower speeds, but gives more of a guarantee of stability on noisey lines.

Engineer been this morning.  He seemed a bit confused by the ADSL2+ and high upstream rate, but agreed 288DOWN was pants.  Could not find anything wrong at the house or the Cab.  Went to htne exchange, and still had 288DOWN.  Messed with the line card, and said he had asked for the gain to be turned up on the server.  Current stats below.  Can anyone possibly explain what he did, I suspect he has just reset the noise margin.  Will monitor now, if still resyncing, can try the stable option.

Bizarre. Glad you got it sorted. I suspect they did the same on my connection as I now have a sync of 5246 Down which is great considering its never been about 3500 before. Makes you wonder how many other connections could be improved?
