Hi,
I've recently had PlusNet Fibre Unlimited (FTTC) fitted.
For future reference, could someone please tell me the correct method to reset/reboot the BT Openreach (FTTC) modem that is connected to my Netgear DGND4000 router.
I don't want to give the DLM an excuse to lower my sync speed, should I ever have a problem !!
Thanks

I normally go into the router, manually disconnect, turn off the router, turn off the BT Modem then wait at least 5 minutes before turning back on so the DLM has no doubt that it is an intended disconnect.

To be honest with you, I've had a couple of times where the router has locked up and I've had to do a complete power off of both units simultaneously (my router / modem are a bit hard to get to) so killed the power at the socket. I've waited a few minutes then powered back up with no apparent ill effects but I much prefer the more controlled approach

Thanks khaled35 for the link ... it's now bookmarked !
picbits like you, I also prefer the more controlled approach. I've read that the DLM can be very aggressive, hence I wanted to know the correct method
