IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

My IP profile has been stuck on  2000 Kbps for a week now.

On saturday morning I attached the router to the main socket and has been on for over 72hrs and still there is no change.
How can I get the IP profile raised?

Re: IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

Hi @iambatman (BTW I can't read your forum name without repeating it in a low gruff voice Smiley )

According to a line test your line is on a 7150kbps profile, I've submitted an SNR reset which should improve things within the next few hours.
Please let us know if nothing changes.

Re: IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

As SNR resets usually take around 4 hours but can in some cases take up to 24 I'll advise you to hang fire until tomorrow. If it's still an issue then please log a fault here: https://portal.plus.net/apps/kbdfaults feel free to post back when you have.

Re: IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

Do you have DMT tool, if so, move the SNR all the way up and then apply, then again move SNR down to 100% and the ip profile should do the trick back to 7150K as I had done that before when I was stuck at 2000K for a month with my old isp's entanet before someone metion me DMT Tool can kick the ip profile because entanet and BT won't do anything to reset stuck profile even I had 3 times bt engineer come to my property and I had arguement with him over stuck profile, he say up to 8Mbps is ok to have 2Mbps as a standard (below that will be a fault) and BT charged me £127.50 for call out charge 3 times because of no fault is found. Thankfully entanet had refunded me £382.50 with a shock bill.

Re: IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

@iambatman - If you're not aware you'll need a router that'll work with the DMT tool, they're not all compatible - the site is here (run through google translate, as it's in German): http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://dmt.mhilfe.de/&ei=YskfT8WUGIup8APmu_HLD...
Has the speed increased at all? Hoping so, please let us know.

Re: IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

my router is a DG834Gv3 so it's not compatible with dmt tool
and I'm still getting slow speeds, same IP profile

I'd advise raising a fault in that case.

Don't let that put you off raising a fault. We do have a charge of £60 which is levied if the fault is found to be with your equipment but we always do what we can to help you eliminate that as a potential cause of the issue.

Re: IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

my ip profile returned to normal yesterday and worked fine for most of the day
last night the speed dropped and is still very low now

so what can the problem be?
I still haven't raised a fault report yet

Re: IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

Please run a speedtest first thing in the morning and post the result (ideally before 07:00!)
Your ip profile is fine at the moment, so its something else
- traffic to/from your local exchange
- your ISP !

Re: IP profile stuck on 2000 Kbps

Hi iambatman,
Are you still seeing the slower speed, as I've just ran some tests and I can't see any issues from this end.
