Hi, I did a BT diagnostics test and my results were a little confusing.
Download speed: 17.03mbps
Maximum achievable speed: 21mbps
IP profile: 18.01mbps
Upload speed: 0.9mbps
Maximum achievable speed: 0.83
IP profile: 0.83
I went onto BT's website and researched "IP profiles" and it says the IP profile should be around 500kbps (equivalent to 0.4mbps) less than the maximum connection rate otherwise any less than 500kbps then there could be a fault but I had an engineer visit on Wednesday 19th February and he said the problem was my external cabling that goes to the black box on the outside of my property so he replaced it and the disconnections stopped but my IP profile is still considerably less than my maximum achievable speed and I only live 0.1km from my exchange.

I'm not sure how you derived at the 500kbps or exactly where you found that but I doubt that would help in the given situation.
Lets see how things go with the engineer visit today and take things from there.

I wouldn't rule out your router being faulty given your other posts!
