IP Profile reset?

Hi chaps,
A few months ago my router went nuts, dropping connection like crazy.
Had the replacement router now for sometime with a very stable connection but my speed had dropped slightly as my IP profile has reduced.
Tried going through the Plus nets broadband faults procedure but got no where. Can my line be reset or IP Profile reset?

Re: IP Profile reset?

Could you post your current router stats (I assume you're using a TG582N?) and a BT speed test (from http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/). ; Then we can assist you further.

Re: IP Profile reset?

What is the 'Current line speed' (found under Member Centre > Connection Settings > High-speed Broadband)?

Re: IP Profile reset?

5.4meg.
A speedtest normally maxes out at 5.04meg.  I used to easily get 6.3meg.

5.4meg.

That is fine for your current sync speed. You won't be able to get any faster until you sync faster.
I would suggest that you restart your router tomorrow at mid-day and then post your stats then.
If there is no difference, then the only answer is to get the SNRM reduced to 3dB (I suspect is has increased from 3dB to 6dB), which the Digital Care Team (Plusnet staff) can help you out with tomorrow. But please try that first to see if that makes any difference.

Re: IP Profile reset?

It's made barely any difference I'm afraid :(.
I think what has happened is that your target SNRM has increased to 6dB from 3dB. We need this to be put back to 3dB but we need the Plusnet staff to do that. I expect they'll be a long to help soon.

Re: IP Profile reset?

And here we are Smiley
I'll place the SNR reset to 3dB and see how that goes, if your line cannot handle this it will move back to at least 6dB.

Re: IP Profile reset?

Disconnected from internet, switched off router, disconnected from the wall.
Never in the history of me having ADSL have I ever had so many problems 😞

Re: IP Profile reset?

Changed NTE ADSLNation filter to standard BT one.
Got these stats now. Ping has increased from 30ms to 49ms on Speedtest though :-S
