Re: IP Profile Question

Yes that's right I've also rebooted the router a few times today so that's why I think you can see so many connection drops.

Re: IP Profile Question

The "max achievable speed" reported by the BT speedtester is based entirely on your line speed. It does not imply any limit to your line speed. If your line speed became different, a different max achievable speed would be given.
It's probably because BTWholesale don't actually guarantee that each end user will get 100% of their line speed 100% of the time, and the range of allowable speeds is pretty wide.
ADSL Line Synch RateThroughput Range
0 to 288kbps100kbps to 250kbps
288kbps to 576kbps100kbps to 500kbps
576kbps to 1152kbps400kbps to 1000kbps
1152kbps to 2272kbps800kbps to 2000kbps
2272kbps to 4544kbps1200kbps to 4000kbps
4544kbps to 8128kbps2000kbps to 7150kbps
8128kbps to 24384kbps4000kbps to 21000kbps

Of course, most of the time, everyone sees speeds much higher than the lower end of those throughput ranges.

Re: IP Profile Question

Hi, not sure what's going on but could someone take a look at my Plusnet profile again please?  It's dropped to 4.3Mbps again but my BT IP profile is still at 4.99Mbps.  Thanks

Re: IP Profile Question

There is unlikely to be any member of Plusnet staff on these forums on a Sunday evening to make the change right now.
The Plusnet current line speed should update automatically, but it may take a few days.

Re: IP Profile Question

No I understand this won't be looked at until tomorrow.  My point is that my BT profile hasn't changed for around the last week (it's set at 4.99Mbps) so not sure why my Plusnet line speed has dropped.
I've been a Plusnet customer for around 5 years and the line speed has never increased automatically for me.  Unfortunately I always have to ask for this to be increased manually to match my IP profile.

Re: IP Profile Question

Hi Chewie,
I've just taken a look and there was a profile update from 5am this morning to 4900, rather than wait for this to automatically push through I've updated the profile now for you.
