IP Profile Question

The response I received was that my current sync speed is 4.8Mbps and because the ADSL service can only utilise 88% of the sync speed to keep the service stable then my line speed will have to remain capped at 4.2Mbps.
Would someone be able to explain this to me please? I've always had to request for my line speed to be increased previously as it never seems to match my IP profile automatically. As far as I'm aware the line speed has always been set the same as my IP profile so I'm a bit confused as to why it now has to be set lower than this. If someone could clear this up for me I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

What is the actual sync speed as reported by your router - this gives it for a Plusnet router http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/dsl/dt/?ce=1&be=0&l0=1&l1=0
However when you say line speed are you referring to the Current Line Speed as reported here https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed then you are correct it will be the same as the BT IP profile rounded down to the nearest 0.1Mbps as it isn't the line speed at all it is the Plusnet profile - it is just their stupid terminology

I don't have a Plusnet router I have an Asus DSL-N55U. I've logged in as admin to try and find the current synch speed but not sure where I'd find this. It lists Data Rate Down in the log, is that the same thing? This is currently 5382mbps.
Thanks

Perhaps someone who has this router can comment
Either way the staff on here should pick this up tomorrow although I wonder if the agent you spoke to was looking at the right line as he was seeing a sync speed of 4.8Mbps

I've taken a look into this for you and can see that the sync speed is indeed higher than the profile on our side however DLM is in effect on the line at present which is holding the speed down around the 4.2mbps mark. There doesn't appear to be anything evident by way of a fault on the line from testing however the graph below shows some serious drops in connection around the 27th and 28th of October which does seem to tie in with the application of the DLM.
<img src="http://community.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image14151810142213.png"/>
After taking a look over your previous faults I can see that an SNR reset was placed to raise the targets and regain stability of the connection which seemed to fix the problem however this didn't seem to address DLM which was restricting the speeds. Given this, I'm going to attempt to reset this for you again and hopefully this should release the DLM and bring the speed back up to match the BT profile.
This will normally complete within the next 4 hours however it can take up to 24 hours for the reset to take effect in some cases so if you can let us know how the connection is looking this time tomorrow, hopefully we should see the actual speed increase.

I've manually updated the profile for you to 4900k (the most suitable profile we have for you).
You should automatically lose and regain your connection within the next half hour or so. At this point you'll see the new throughput.

I always thought that you only got an upstream IP profile on 21CN but the Max achievable speed would seem to indicate that you are on 20CN even though the downstream IP profile is for 21CN
This will need staff input but, if you are on 21CN then you need the upstream uncapping
Your other thread is related to this so I have merged them

I've now placed a modify order to uncap your upload speeds so this should be complete by Monday, Apologies for any confusion that caused, it should have been done at the point of the house move but appears to have been overlooked.

This returned a few interesting results as it seems the connection has been dropping quite severely today and testing also flagged a possible profile mismatch. While I haven't ever seen the possible 20cn profile showing in the dslchecker being flagged as a profile mismatch I've decided to raise a fault through to the supplier to investigate both issues further.
There is now a fault ticket on your account which will be updated once we have some more information back from the supplier following their testing.
