Re: Huge packet loss on specific destinations

I can't even get through to Plusnet on the phone anymore. They are swamped.

Re: Huge packet loss on specific destinations

I've never had to contact them on phone.
looking at logs pasted, it's not PlusNET's network causing the timeouts. Give them time, sure they are contacting providers regarding this. Don't expect things to be fixed instantly, when other providers maybe working on this.

Re: Huge packet loss on specific destinations

I am unable to stream my live DJ set at present. I tried last night thinking it would be OK but lost connection several times and had to cancel the rest of the show, much to my listeners and my disappointment.
Is anyone in contact with Proxad? I am not able to contact them due to them only speaking to members (and being French it would seem?).

Re: Huge packet loss on specific destinations

FWIW I was trying to play Minecraft Sunday evening and I was getting logged out every 5-10 minutes. My broadband connection seems fine and other players weren't having problems but when I tried a traceroute the ping time jumped from 20ms to 100ms at about the 5th or 6th hop at what looked like the edge of Plusnet's network. Several times the trace came back "no reply", and the route was inconsistent.
Monday was better but still rough. Correction: the trace I did was from Monday evening.

This is the trace I posted in a ticket:
See hops 5 and 6, it seems to take an excessive time and drop packets

Kelly,
As I see you have no packet loss, BUT you have different PlusNET router (ae1.ptw-cr01.plus.net) connected to the RETN network, my route is going through ae2.ptw-cr01.plus.net router. Maybe there is problem with PlusNET router (ae2.ptw-cr01.plus.net)?

That's the same router, just a different interface. Aggregated Ethernet 1 and 2 on Plusnet router ptw-cr01.

Re: Huge packet loss on specific destinations

I will continue posting this every night if it needs be.
Packet loss currently at 5% on 100 ping count to dj.virtualdj.com, I expect it to worsen in the next hour or so.

Re: Huge packet loss on specific destinations

Have you tried contacting Proxad (http://www.peeringdb.com/view.php?asn=12322) as the routing problem seems to be with their LinX peer?
Interestingly there doesn't seem to be an issue over their IPv6 peer.

Re: Huge packet loss on specific destinations

Well things looked good until about 7pm
As you can see there's a big jump in response time at proxad

Re: Huge packet loss on specific destinations

The problem is the issue is not with PN - it lies with the company that hosts dj.virtualdj.com who's peer has a problem in London.
I tried traceroutes from three other UK networks/sites and they all go through Linx.
