Re: Home Network Router Problem

I didn't have time to post any more detail or info earlier but as I dragged my 582n out of it's sick bed yesterday, I can now post you some more info and links to various tg582n pages and you could save which ever ones you like as bookmarks.
If you type 192.168.1.254 into your browser url (address) bar or click the following link,  you should get what's called the "Landing" or TG582n Information page  I would bookmark this one if it works ok - handy for a quick check on your connection.
Does your page show you statistics for your Broadband connection? eg. Status Up and figures in the lines below.
I'm guessing in the Internet Connection box below it says not connected.
If it worked, you can get to the Login page either by clicking on <Advanced Options> at the bottom of that page (5.4) or click the link Login page and tell me what you get?
Edit: sorry I originally mistyped the address 192.168.1.254 now corrected.
If you get the tg582n login screen it should have the default admin username in the box and the password is the serial number..

Re: Home Network Router Problem

It says Connecting................................... and then after 30 seconds there is a completely blank page.
That was with Chrome.
Tried with IE and get Error Message: "Sorry an error occurred while processing your request. ........website team will investigate...................

Re: Home Network Router Problem

Which link goes blank, the Landing page one or the login page one?
Ah, with ref your reply #29, can your type your Madasafish username into the box and your account password in the password box?
Note these are not the same as the TG582n login name and password.
The MAFF account name should be something of the format myaccountname@madasafish.net
I'm not familiar with MAFF login so I'm not sure if it's madasafish.net but PN should have told you exactly what it is - did they?

Re: Home Network Router Problem

Landing page but now it is showing the error message after a long gap.
I have done that but it rejects it. It is .com by the way.

Re: Home Network Router Problem

When you say rejects it, what message if any do you get? Sorry about my typo, did you try the correct one?

Re: Home Network Router Problem

Ah, but not connected to the Internet still? Try http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/is/_pppoa_/ov/?be=0&l0=2&l1=2&name=Internet and see what this comes up with.

Re: Home Network Router Problem

Hi, sorry for delay earlier, I was assuming as you hadn't explicitly said that the Internet was not showing as connected, that it wasn't but your last reply suggests it might be. Could you clarify that please?
One thing I should mention is that when you log into the 582n, it will log you out after 10 minutes of inactivity, so if you click on a link to a page it gives you the login screen first.

Re: Home Network Router Problem

It says Connected to the Internet but if I try a Google Search for instance I get the Error Message: Sorry an Error occurred while processing your request.

Re: Home Network Router Problem

Well at least that is consistent with the fact that you got a response from that 2nd nslookup. How long have you had this 582n?
OK, looking at the router page http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/is/_pppoa_/ov/?be=0&l0=2&l1=2&name=Internet (as reply #37) there should be some values similar to below - I've made up the numbers for the IPv4 Address - don't post yours, but does it show one? And what does it show for the Primary and Secondary DNS? (They may be different values). You can safely post those.
TCP/IPv4 Settings

IPv4 State: Enabled
IPv4 Address: 87.123.123.123
Primary DNS: 212.159.6.10
Secondary DNS: 212.159.6.9
By the way, do you know how to use Private/Personal Messages (PMs)?  - they are under MY MESSAGES at the top of the board. You can also open one to compose to someone by clicking the little RH icon below their username on the left of a post. If you hover over the Icon it says Personal Message with Offline or Online depending on a red or green mark on the icon.
Edit: your DNS entries may be showing 212.159.13.49 & 212.159.13.50

Re: Home Network Router Problem

About a year.
IP address: 10.49.38.209
Primary DNS 212.159.6.9
Secondary DNS: 212.159.6.10
Checked connectivity and I have a full set of ticks
BUT I cannot connect to any site.
I didn't know how to send a PM but now I can. What would you like me to send?
