Hi All
What is the highest 'current line speed' I could expect to see under 'High Speed Broadband' icon. It is currently set to 7150 but I am sure in the past that it was 8000.
Plusnet are telling me that 7150 is the maximum. Is that correct?!
(My router always connects at 8128)

Hi paxy
7150 is the maximum profile on Max. I think this used to be 8000 right back in the beginning but that was changed some time ago, probably to match the BT IP Profiles. This is the maximum throughput you could possibly get on a sync speed of 8128, so you aren't being slowed down at all.

Yep, 7150 is the highest profile you can get on a Max line.
We do have an 8000 profile, this is present when the line is new, until we get a delta report from BTw.

if we get a max profile of 7150 why is my max download 6200 on BT speedtest at 3am?
my profile 8128 my BT exchange is across the road from me. (dont look on google the exchange is not in the right place) all my internal wiring was done by BT my house was built 7 years ago. All cabling goes under the road in to the BT exchange.
Everything filtered as it should be still get the same speed when router plugged in to the master socket BT-i fitted tried different routers in the past.
I have 2 telphone lines my fax and router are the only thing on that line. voice sky ADT alarm etc on the other
Now if i cannot get 8000 download who else in the UK can?

thought you new all about broadband.
your Synch speed is 8128
Your profile is 7150 - this is synch minus overheads
Your download speed is between 6000 and maybe 6700, also more overheads
