Help with openDNS

I have tried to configure my router (DG834GT) to opendns and it won't work, when I apply the settings is defaults back to 'Get Automatically From ISP'
I also tried to configure my laptop (Mac Powerbook Pro - OS Leopard) same crap - get 'oops not connected' when using their test site.
According to their help pages they indicate that PN could be using a proxy that prevents 3rd part DNS addresses.
any ideas guys?

This is what my DG834G v4 looks like and it should be the same as the GT

hmmmm, that's what I can't get
when I click apply it reverts back to  Get Automatically From ISP
Wonder what's wrong? 
which firmware do you have?

Totally different to the GT  V5.01.09  - I just checked
