I have a problem that has recently occured (this week) with my inability to contact my website hosted on a US server. Before Monday, everything was working perfectly.
I cannot access it using my PC, on any of the 3 browsers I use, or with firewalls down, up, or anything. I cannot contact it by web, FTP or even the Wb Hosts online FTP system. Using a whois web program, I was able to find a couple of other web sites on the same shared server, which had the same problems, I couldn't find them from my home PC, but from others I could.
I can see the site if I go through a proxy server on my home PC (i.e. not presenting my F9/Plusnet IP) or if I use the PC at work or at friends houses. I appear to be able to Ping the address, and doing a tracert appears to work but one step times out, but the following steps appear OK.
The host says that my static IP is not blocked and the account is working fine.
What I would like to ask if a few fellow Plusnetters would try to access the site and tell me if they succeed using their plusnet IP's to see if the problem is local to me. The site is a basic text table (the "real site" is a wordpress blog on a subdomain) and wont do anything dubious or collect information or stuff like that.
the address is www.csgh.co.uk
You can let me know on here or by PM.
Thank you for helping me to sort this out.

Thats all thats there.
But I get a "problem loading page" error message, so I can't even see that.
So it appears it is something to do with my PC setup changing for some reason.
Thanks rogerloxton.

I can access it fine.
Do you have the plusnet broadband firewall enabled - it is automatically enabled for BBYW accounts. Check the settings via the member centre -> connection settings (I think) and try turning it off if on and see if it is any different.
In theory it should make not difference but worth a try.
Try connecting to it manually via telnet using this tutorial to see how far it gets.
Did you just disable your local software firewall or uninstall it? Sometimes firewalls don't really stop with turning it off - one example is ZoneAlarm where you actually have to stop it loading at startup on the config page, disabling it then rebooting before it really stops interfering.
You have rebooted your router and PC haven't you
What ADSL equipment are you using; make & model.

Hi All,
Latest news is as follows:
I unplugged my my Voyager 2100 wireless routher and replaced it with "Old Faithful" FUJITSU fx310 USB modem. The web site is now contactable, and my IP address is still the same, same firewall / virus checker.
So for some reason my router is blocking that particular IP address, of the millions out there, for some reason that I don't understand. I have reset the routher back to factory defaults, there is nothing in firewall / viruschecker or router that would deliberately block the IP.
The Plusnet BB firewall is off. No difference.
The tracert on the working USB modem is as follows:
J:\Documents and Settings\John>tracert www.csgh.co.uk

I suppose there's two things that spring to mind.
1. Something like this: http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/MTU.htm
2. Factory reset the router and see if that fixes it.
It does sound like an odd one certainly.

Just an update to be polite.
Thank you all for your suggestions. In the end I was using my old USB modem to see edit the site. However, the problem appears to have gone away of its own accord.
Regards.
