Re: Have Marketing failed? (change of all contract lengths to 10 days)

Jim it is difficult to prove as PN destroy the old terms when they bring out the new ones, but if my memory is correct, we both changed over from BBYW1 to value last january and did calculations as to the peak and off peak times and they were definitely off peak 24;00 to 16:00, I think I have a printed copy of the od rules in my junk pile somewhere, and up to recent times a lot of people have been warned about the time changes

Peter, I know you are unique in several ways, but if you were on peak time 4pm to midnight on BBYW you were the only person who was!

Peak time was never 4pm to midnight on BBYW, they were the first products where we introduced 8am to midnight peak across the board.

*cough*
PAYG

That's why I said across the board. PAYG was the exception when it was on sale.

Mand, I am on PayG. Should my Peak period be 4pm to Midnight?
I think I am clocking up Peak usage between daybreak and 4pm. Huh

Broadband PAYG has the same peak times as the current products, 8am - Midnight.

Re: Have Marketing failed? (change of all contract lengths to 10 days)

I've read this thread with great interest - like many others I had't realised the full implications of the changes.
I changed to BBYW Option 1 (10GB Allowance) Annual Contract on 05/01/2009 - no new hardware supplied.
My Account now shows
Account Summary - PlusNet Broadband Your Way Option 1 with included 10GB bandwidth
VMU Page - Broadband Your Way (Annual Contract)
Which is correct?
This week I had a mailshot from BT offering a 12 month contract for phone plans. Obviously they have not changed T&Cs.

You're on a 10 day notice period just like everyone else. Your account summary (and various pages of the portal, will say annual contract as that's the name of your product (there were monthly variants of BBYW products too).

I've seen another topic today where people were not aware of the contract length change. I bet we'll be seeing more similar posts for months to come. Sad

Well, why doesn't PN modify the account summary....I also had to get a bit uptight when I saw the words"annual contract" before it was exlpained to me in the same kind of letter about the name of the 'account summary'.
It appears that PN have been a little lax about this and therefore this anxiety is being caused unnecessarily.

Quite an interesting read particularly with regard to the duties attached to the position.

Re: Have Marketing failed? (change of all contract lengths to 10 days)

That scares me.
1. They are obviously getting new users at such a rate that that the support teams can't cope and there are unacceptable delays in processing faults. But worse than that the network can't cope; we have NEVER before the last 6 months seen Pro and PAYG users complaining about speeds dropping at peak times when the exchange status is OK. Ever more marketing is going to make the problem worse.
2. Reading the job description the number of times "BT" occurs shows that Plusnet is gradually losing independence. Something we all feared and expected but we were assured wouldn't happen.

Re: Have Marketing failed? (change of all contract lengths to 10 days)

But aren't PN merely advertising a marketing job that was vacated just a while ago. ?
I certainly communicated with the said person before he left.
I rather fancy the project managers job !. But could I cope with Sheffield and all those Yorkshireman  Roll_eyes
