Hi everyone,
I know a number of people have been having issues with their upgrades/switches to Plusnet Fibre, I just wanted to post a "good news" story, to show that it's not all doom and gloom, and that good speeds await those who make it
I was on the old Plusnet Premier Broadband (option 1), but was grandfathered in to FTTC from the trials. I used the online change my product wizard and had an upgrade to Fibre Unlimited set to occur on my billing date (18th Jan).
This morning, woke up to the following speeds:
(please don't take this as gloating, just wanted to show that things can be good)
NOTE: these speed tests were performed while connected through a remote desktop from work:
Plusnet profile:
Phone Exchange:
SKYPORT
Estimated line speed:
65Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) - Checked on 2012-12-31 10:36:47
Current line speed:
78 Mb
BT Wholesale - first speed test:
Download Speed (Mbps): 74.09
Upload Speed (Mbps): 13.84
Ping latency (ms): 50.75
BT Wholesale - further diagnostic test:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 74.09 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 16 Mbps-77.43 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 77.43 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 13.84Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps
Thinkbroadband speedtest:
Doesnt work, chrome java issue.
Speedtest.net speedtest:
Download Speed (Mbps): 74.73
Upload Speed (Mbps): 13.93
Ping (ms): 11.00
Transition overnight was seamless, and router re-connected all fine.
static ip remained.
Webhosting and ccgi hosting remained on account
regards
