Re: Glacially slow speeds

Hi andyp,
You are on ADSL2+ but your connection is banded between 7168 and 14336 - unfortunately as things stand that won't be changed as you're not syncing at the top end of the banding.
Is the router in the master socket and everything else throughout the premises that's plugged in done so through a filter?
We're not seeing many disconnections but I suspect there's a few errors on the line that are preventing it from connecting any faster.

Re: Glacially slow speeds

I don't think this is a banded profile, from the sync speeds of 8128 down and 896 up it looks suspiciously like an ADSL1 connection on 21CN so either there is a PlusNet/BT provisioning problem or the op's router is set to ADSL1 mode as mentioned by spraxt. Perhaps a factory reset of the router would help by setting it to auto mode so it will use ADSL2+ mode if it is actually configured on the line, then if the sync speeds are still the same keep complaining to PlusNet, you should be getting speeds of ~18Mbps on ADSL2+.

Re: Glacially slow speeds

Hi RealAleMadrid,
What are your reasons for saying that? I did actually check andyp's line stats in BTs monitoring systems to advise of the above information, and am not in the habit of lying to customers whether in public or not.
EDIT: Apologies, didn't mean that to come across as it did. The information I posted came from BTs reporting systems which do tally up with what we're seeing on the line, I'd be very surprised indeed if they were incorrect.

Re: Glacially slow speeds

Hi - I've just raised a fault re: the speed.
EDIT:
Download speed achieved during the test was - 6.8 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 12.65 Mbps

Re: Glacially slow speeds

Odd... from our side we've seen sync jump up to around 12Mb (12646) but the banding hasn't changed and is still capped at 14336. Wondering if there's a profile mismatch there somewhere, I'll have a look - good to see things improving though.
EDIT: Consistency check comes back fine so profiles are matching across the exchange equipment.

Re: Glacially slow speeds

Hi there,
Not a lot really, though it's looking like you're now syncing at the top of the banding. If that keeps up as is and we don't see many disconnections I suspect an SNR reset might well do very good things, I'll check again tomorrow.

Re: Glacially slow speeds

Things are definitely looking a lot better. I've requested the SNR reset for you, should take effect within the next couple of hours - hope it improves things, I'm pretty much convinced that it will do.

No worries at all, really glad it's worked Smiley
Give's a shout if there's anything else we can help with.
