For those of you who have/have had a fast ADSL2+ connection and have gone to fibre -is there anything that you now do via fibre which you couldn't have done before?
I ask because currently I can't see a real world justification for moving from say ,17Mb to 70 Mb.

I never had a particularly good speed on ADSL so my justification for FTTC was easier.
The main advantage is if you have several users online at the same time, you can watch streamed TV while the kids are on youtube / games and the wife's facebook doesn't slow down.
There are probably not many occasions when the full bandwidth is anywhere near used but it's nice to have it available.

I was stuck on adsl 1, 2 & fibre came at the same data
No brainer for me, same price as I was paying for adsl1, and the ability to get what I want when I want quickly makes fibre worth the move.

Yeah -I haven't got a problem seeing a justification from say, 4Mb on ADSL Max to Fibre. Much smoother streaming for one and much easier to cope with multi users.
I'm just waiting to place an order to go to ADSL2+ ,which should see me get speeds of 17Mb or better - on our household usage that should be plenty, even at weekends when the "children" come home - but I've been told that we should have fibre available next Spring and I was just wondering whether there is any need to think about a further upgrade to fibre.

For me personally the upload speed increase was a big benefit when adding videos to YouTube etc.

I agree Chris, Wish Virgin Media cable had the better upload below: the tech guy say to me virgin media is always 10% for the upload to downstream. When BT FTTC come along, I will upgrade my ADSL2+ to FTTC for a better upload.

For me, I used to have a 19.5mbps sync on ADSL2+ which following a change of ISP decreased to around 17mbps , But the increased upload speed was a big draw for me, and the fact that my connection is free from a lot of the problems that caused instability with ADSL2+ for me, obviously it must of been a bad E 'side cable for DSL, because FTTC doesn't use the e'side ,as it's fibre from the exchange to the cab
I suspect there are a lot of people who where in a similar situation with an unreliable ADSL2+ connection who now have a reliable FTTC connection and if your a gamer the last thing you want is having to use interleave , head line speeds aren't the only benefit over a ADSL 2+ connection

Thanks for the comments - not a gamer and currently don't upload much -but I suppose that if I wanted to use cloud back up services than the extra upload speed would be useful!
