Re: Gaming problems, is it down to my Internet or is it down to the 2704n router

I've put an order through to request interleaving gets turned off. This takes up to 24 hours.

I just want a stable connection

Turning interleaving off is likely to reduce the stability on a line, not increase it.
Are you still connected via a wired connection since the SNR increase towards the back end of last week? I'd be interested to know how the line is performing over an ethernet connection now.

Re: Gaming problems, is it down to my Internet or is it down to the 2704n router

When Interleaving was off on my ADSL line Chris, the ping time virtually halved to 17/18ms depending on which Gateway I was on. I'm afraid a lot of Gamers notice a significant degradation in their Gaming when Interleaving is on.  He is talking about stability from the latency point of view.
Alex, you are on ADSL2+ also known as 21CN. Wink

Again though, a ping around 35ms is not a problem in the slightest.

Most likely, but the line isn't without disconnections:

The most recent set of ping results are absolutely fine, if there is 'significant lag' still showing when the pings are at those it's unlikely to be the ping time causing it.

Re: Gaming problems, is it down to my Internet or is it down to the 2704n router

@Chris yes playing over a wired connection, I always game over a wired connection, for the first 2 nights after you changed settings lag was even worse but last night seemed a lot better, will see how this goes when I get on see if it's still ok. What is causing all those disconnections?
@Anotherone I really ain't sure if I am on adsl or adsl2+ I have asked but not got a reply on what I am on, I looked up my exchange and apparently it does support adsl2+ but as to whether I am on this or not I have no clue, although I suspect I am on adsl and not adsl2+

Your stats prove you are on ADSL2+.

@Chris,
Can you please check if those are just PPP drops or are there drops in the sync?

@Alex, just to check, are you rebooting the modem/router at all, or changing any settings? Or Gateway hopping by Disconnecting the PPP Internet session and Reconnecting?

Re: Gaming problems, is it down to my Internet or is it down to the 2704n router

Ah ok I had no clue what I am on.  How do I disconnect ppp Internet?  The only time I reset my router is occasionally at night usually between 6 or 7pm if I log into my xbox and it says I have a strict or moderate NAT resetting my router and xbox usually resolves this and opens my nat type.. any other time I have nothing to do with disconnections.

Not really, the only information we get is the number of initialisations in an hour, min, max and average which doesn't really help.

It would help Chris as would the MTBR and line ILQ please. Some are obviously Alex.
Alex, ah right, that will certainly account for a fair number of those drops. Let me just check on some modem/router pages for you to look at.

Re: Gaming problems, is it down to my Internet or is it down to the 2704n router

According to my router I am only on ADSL not adsl2+
I have done port forwarding on my xbox to get an open nat but for some reason I still have nat issues.

If you look at the Helpdesk Page line 7, you cannot get those speeds on ADSL. The maximum on ADSL is 448 up and 8128 down. Ignore line 5  Crazy
