G.992.5 request :)

Is it to late to on a friday to ask for a move on to g.992.5 from g.992.1 ?
Then we can think about going on a fixed profile....
Thanks choo  Smiley

I don't think the fixed profile is available.
There was a trial where it was but I believe that following that the capability was removed

Re: G.992.5 request :)

The DLM is a bit to keen on putting the snr to 15db which is having a knock on effect with the "non-updating" PN profile.
The line is fine around on 9db and if the wind isn't really excessive 6db.
If the profile is fixed then end user can adjust the snr up/down as required.
I though BT have made this stuff  ( snr/profiles) easier for ISP's to have control over ?

Re: G.992.5 request :)

Hi there,
Looks like there was an issue with Friday's order I'm afraid. I've placed one manually for you which should complete tomorrow.
Let me know if your profile needs a nudge afterwards.

No problem, I've just checked, the order is complete and the speeds are starting to lift now Smiley

Thanks for chasing this.
Don't worry if the radius logs look  messy while the line gets tweaked from this end.
Once the line is settled n' sorted then a fixed profile would be great Smiley
Thanks choo

Re: G.992.5 request :)

Might be a problem  Embarrassed
The line wont sync in ADSL2+ ('G992.5 ) only ADSL2 (G992.3)
ADSL2+ should sync up ok on 49db Atten
Swithched over to the 2wire
Here's the  log of  muti filter / rj11 combs just to see if their's any obvious issues & trying to force adsl2+ on the netgear GT

Re: G.992.5 request :)

Thanks for trying the other filters out, I'm not sure double filtering would be helpful though (unless perhaps you have a problematic Sky box or a DECT phone.

You're right but the speeds wouldn't be that great TBH.
Tests that I've performed are currently showing the line as out of sync, is your router still connected up at the moment?

Re: G.992.5 request :)

Just put  put everything back into the nte2000 on with the netgear gt back on as test router.
The pics just show different rj11 ( shielded / unshielded ) 2 different filters  just to rule out the usual known issues
Also it rules out nte 2000 face plate issues. Helps having a visual recored if a fault needs to be raised.
The 17070  opt 2 test is silent  ( kinda points towards  E-Side/   with a port reset or  lift and shift needed  Sad
Thanks Again Smiley

Re: G.992.5 request :)

@choo, without wanting to disappoint there isn't an issue here really.

Sorry I missed you saying that earlier, what do you mean exactly? disconnecting a lot during the line training period won't help you much.

why do you think that would help? these things are only really relevant to dropping connection issues.
I'm sorry if this seems a bit abrupt (it's really not meant to be) but with those line stats in mind your speeds might not lift by much during the 10 day line training period that began today, I hope theydo but I always think its best to look at these things from a realistic perspective.
