I suspect that BT made a change in the way uses Java.  I don't  know about Linux but I've found that with Windows  I can get round it by logging in as Administrator (not my normal user which is given full admin rights).  Actually I'm using Vista Home Premium but I believe the same may apply with XP.

dont know who changed what, wasnt working this morning, I  made no changes, it is now
