ok I have a .bin file of the firmware but now what? i went to SYSTEM INFO> SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONS>SAVE/RESTORE CONFIGS uploaded it but just done nothing? can someone tell me what im doing wrong?

You need the flashing utility appropriate to your version of Windows which is mentioned and linked in this Community Support Library article. Though the article is for the TG585v7 and v8 the flashing utility works also on the TG582n.
Follow the procedure described in that article.
