Fibre installed today - Download 2.7Mbps - Upload 16Mbps

Hello, had fibre installed today and the download seems a little low. called up support and they said they are making a change and it should sort itself in 15 minutes - it still appears to be the same over 3 hours later. any advice?
thanks

Hi laz3484,
Could you just restart your router please and let us know if you have any joy?

All that's probably happened is that the Plusnet speed profile is still set to your old adsl speed, once its updated you should get a good speed.

i figured it would be something like that, i reported it and they said it would be sorted in 15 minutes without a reboot so i went to work, i have remote access to my home pc but dont have a clue on login details for the new router so cant reboot it until I'm home Sad

You can check what your profile is set to, hopefully  this link will take you the connection settings/high speed broadband page, and it should show your current line speed.

Had a look at that page
Estimated line speed:
    60Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) - Checked on 2013-06-07 11:03:51
Current speed according to the BT website 28Mbps - much better than the 2.7 i had earlier

Re: Fibre installed today - Download 2.7Mbps - Upload 16Mbps

I'm due for FTTC installation next week. When the date was confirmed it included this advice:
"When the engineer completes the work you may not experience fibre speeds straight away. This is because we need to manually adjust your speed profile when the order completes, so the change should be effective within 48 hours. Please be patient with us whilst we do this for you."
Perhaps it just takes more time than you expected?
