Now that PN is so good at providing a fibre service, how's about someone very senior giving BT a swift boot where it hurts and telling them to equip the remaining cabinets in exchanges which are already enabled.

The Sheffield exchange on Charter Row is massive. Converting that must be a major task.

It's not that exchange that's the problem, it's the dog's breakfast of future fibre provisioning in Sheffield caused mainly by the fact that the Digital Region project has failed to take off (to put it mildly!) No-one is going anywhere fast until their future is resolved.

Had a Open Reach trainer engineer plus trainee at mine in Inverness last Monday fixing a line fault, I asked when fibre was coming and got a very dirty look. Then again at the current pricing for it its not worth it for me, hopefully once it is here it will have dropped in price.

Allegedly fibre is due on my exchange next month (new fibre cab down the road) and 21CN possibly due in August.
At current prices I may well stick with my ADSLMax and wait for ADSL2+.
