Faster than IP profile???

The BT IP profile for my connection right now is 3500Kbps
Didn't think a faster speedtest result would be possible?
Is it due to the way the MBS speedtester is set up?

Data transfer rate can instantaneously exceed the IP Profile, though not the sync speed.
MBS provides instantaneous speed, whereas TBB measures an average so the latter is more likely to reflect what users perceive as 'speed'. I think the speeds shown on the TBB image are also 1024-based whereas MBS values are 1000-based.
